Section III   Hazards Identification Emergency Overview

Appearance and Odor:                   Colorless to pale yellow liquid, odorless to slight alcoholic

Primary Routes of Entry:     Skin contact, Eye contact, Inhalation

This material contains the following components with the special hazards listed below .

Carcinogens                                 Teratogens                     Reproductive Toxins                 Sensitizers

None Known                                 None Known                  None Known                   None Known

Mutagens

Chloropropyl trimethoxysilane; CAS# 2530-87-2; Positive in the Ames Test; Genetically Active in VIVO Assay

Comments: Chloropropyltrimethoxysilane. was found to be genetically active via inhalation in a bone marrow micronucleus assay (female rats exposed to 200 ppm/day for 28 days).  In the same assay, no evidence of genetic activity was found in mice exposed to 500, 1000 or 1625 mg/kg by I.P. injection.  The potential relevance of this to humans has not yet been determined.

Section IV   First Aid Measures

Signal Word:                    Warning

Emergency First Aid Procedures:

IF IN EYES - Hold eyelids open and flush with a steady, gentle stream of water for 15 minutes.  Get medical attention.

IF INHALED - Remove victim to fresh air.  If not breathing, give artificial respiration, preferably mouth-to-mouth.  Get medical attention.

IF SWALLOWED - Call a doctor or get medical attention.  Do not induce vomiting or give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.  Drink promptly a large quantity of milk, eggwhites, gelatin solution, or if these are not available, drink large quantities of water.  Avoid alcohol.

IF ON SKIN - Wash thoroughly with soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation or ill effects develop or persist.

Steps to be taken if material is released or spilled: Do not contaminate water, food, or feed by material.

Water Disposal Methods: Dispose according to Federal RCRA and applicable state and local regulations.

Disposal of collected product, residues, and cleanup materials may be governmentally regulated. Observe all applicable local, state, and federal waste management regulations.

Inactivation of solutions containing ForceFieldÒ MoldBlockÔ may be accomplished by addition of an anionic surfactant or detergent in quantity equivalent to that of ForceFieldÒ MoldBlockÔ in solution.

Section VII     Handling and Storage

Handling: Hazard to humans and domestic animals. Causes substantial but temporary eye injury.  Do not get in eyes or on clothing.  Wear protective eyewear  (goggles, face shield, or safety glasses).  Harmful if swallowed, inhaled or absorbed through skin. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and avoid breathing dust, vapor or spray mist.  Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling.  Remove contaminated clothing and wash clothing before reuse.

Precautions to be taken in handling and storage - Do not freeze product

De-activation for disposal - addition of an anionic surfactant in quantity equal to ForceFieldÒ MoldBlockÔ in solution.

Do not contaminate water, food, or feed by storage and disposal.
